Safehouse of Seminole and SAFE of Central Florida present We Are S.A.M. (Student Abolitionist Movement), an innovative platform to equip, energize and empower high school juniors and seniors in public, private and home schools. Students will be educated on the various topics of human trafficking and then empowered to lend their voice by creating sustainable solutions to combatting it. Students may choose from 7 project categories (virtual arts, performing arts, STEM, community outreach, film, literature and writing, entrepreneurship and business solutions). Scholarships will be awarded, and the grand prize winner will receive an $80,000 award. A Professional mentors will be matched to winning students who wish to grow their concepts. Guest speakers represent numerous professionals who have either worked on the frontlines with survivors or have raised awareness and found solutions to combatting human trafficking.
